Final Devlog- RetroSunBear

Hello Players ! Artist of the game Grizz (Retro_SunBear) typing my first and final devlog for this current project .... lol

I wanted to share some of my thoughts a responses to some questions I was asked in class  related to the creation of my team and I's game.

First I wanted to start off with talking about some of the biggest challenges I've faced while working on the art of this game. Now For me personally I wasn't have to much of a difficult time getting the art done for Under The Bed but I DID have an issue with my consistency with the art either it being my rendering, the style, coloring between endings, and at least to my knowledge I believe those were the only issues I was able to spot. BUUTT after letting myself take a break from working on the art looking back at them I was able to fix what I think is the majority of the issues .

Something I'm most proud of in this game is the UI sprite work I made and the title screen! I had fun designing the main character Boogie and i had the most fun making the UI look pretty and the title screen to look a little spooky :3

I'm so glad to where we were able to make this amount of progress on our game, it basically turned out how id imagine it at the start of development (2 weeks ago). Throughout these 2 weeks I was able to improve on my team communication skills allowing myself to put in my own input and helping make important decisions in the game , another skill I think I improved on was my work planning/ Time management! I was able to get UI art and ending screen art done within a reasonable time even with the previously mentioned issues I've dealt with!

Something I'd most def do if I were to do another game jam is created a simple but unique style for the game! For this game I kinda just defaulted to a more simplistic version of my style and if I'm gonna be honest I don't feel too proud in myself for that and I felt like I could've done something better.

With the time limit we had I personally didn't feel pressure from it, itself but (No shade towards some of my teammates) I felt more pressure from them instead and it did get on my nerves a little bit , but its completely understandable at the same time LOL.

Some Advice id give to others who wanna do a game jam is that you should def discuss and plan what the stage will look like before to even start any coding or official art.

See you in my next game :3
