Final Devlog - Pink_Heart727

HELLOOO, Pink Heart here. I've been very silent, working in the background. We've finally finished this project and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. My main job was your attack component and the SFX (that traumatized my team, including myself).

Biggest Challenge: THE PLAYER ATTACK BROKE 3 TIMES!! It actually took me, 3 DAYS to get it to work. Between the animations breaking to the attack itself, I had no shortage of problems. First time I ever cried working on code.

How Did I Solve it: Cried, huddled in a corner, spent 5 minutes screaming, then cracked my knuckles and and tried rewriting the script. Fun Fact: Breaking GitHub's merge branch is what fixes it (learned that when I went home and worked on my own game with the same mechanic).

What Am I proud of: The Player animations feel very fluid and good for such a simple character.

How was the final project different from how I originally planned: I hadn't imagined the player moving around as much and staying more under the  bed as a shadow attacking the enemies.

What did I learn: Don't give up, cry and take a break and come back later. Probably the biggest lesson I've ever learned from this.

If I could do it again differently: I wouldn't have wasted so much time on the player attack

How did working under a time limit affect me: I had to manage my time better to make sure I got as much done as possible.

What advice would I give to someone participating in a game jam for the first time: Plan everything from the start, and constantly make sure the list is up to date.
